Occupational Standards Update
The International Society for Coaching Psychology was represented on the steering committee and working groups for the revision of the Coaching and Mentoring National Occupational Standards in the UK. The Learning and Skills Improvement Service get the International Society’s full support.
Who are LSIS? The Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) was formed to accelerate quality improvement, increase participation and raise standards and achievement in the learning and skills sector in England. For this year, the team will focus on a work programme set out by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES) for qualifications, National Occupational Standards (NOS), and finding a strategic ‘home’ for certain aspects of work only temporarily hosted by LSIS. Some responsibilities will stay with LSIS permanently, while other elements – such as community learning and development (including youth work), careers guidance, and libraries, archives, records and information management services – are in transition.
